Lychnostatis Museum: An ideal place to explore the traditional way of Cretan life

The Museum of Traditional Life and Folk Culture of Crete “Lychnostatis” was built by Giorgos Markakis in the period 1986-1992. You can get there by driving or taking a bus from Heraklion east to Chersonissos, about 10 km.

The surprising thing is that only raw materials were used in the construction and the use of mechanical means was avoided.
