Chalkos is a very popular beach with sand and pebbles

Chalkos is a small beach situated on the southeastern coast of the island of Kythira, 200 meters long and 20 meters wide. It is one of the most popular and, naturally, crowded beaches of the island. Chalkos beach is accessible via an irregular trail leading down from the Chora-Kalamos route.

Chalkos beach is fairly windy with the wind blowing from the north making it a refreshing spot to spend time and enjoy your holidays. It is a typical sand and pebble beach with fine gradient adding to its beauty. It is organized with sun-beds and umbrellas, that are absolutely essential as there is not much natural shade available.
