One of the most interesting free shows that will take place in Athens
Athens has been decorated and lives in Christmas rhythms. In many squares and neighbourhoods, events are organized in a festive atmosphere. So this year, and just before the year changes, Thission districtwill be transformed into an outdoor cinema for everyone, free of charge.
At the junction of Ermou & Asomaton streets, on the pedestrian street in Thission district, Christmas films will be screened free for the public in three consecutive days. The screening is curated by the Athens Open Air Film Festival. Overwhelmed by the Christmas spirit, the Festival “wears” its festive clothes and screens films for free overlooking the Acropolis. When? The films will be screened over the three-day period 27-29 of December. Every day and from 6:30 p.m. one movie will be screened.
The festival cooperates with the Municipality of Athens and organizes this different pe4rformance. This is one of the most interesting free performances that will take place in Athens. The movies are definitely well known and we’ve probably seen them several times. However, it is a completely different experience to see a favourite Christmas movie outdoors and especially overlooking the Acropolis.
Of course, the fact that winter days are cold for an outdoor view has been predicted. You don’t have to worry. There will be stoves in the area while the festival employees will gladly offer you blankets and hot drinks. Something that is ideal for a movie…
