Agios Nikolaos is a beach for those seeking tranquillity and privacy on Kythera’s north

On the northern tip of Kythera, just below the lighthouse of Moudari, you’ll find the beach of Agios Nikolaos, a picturesque and sheltered beach for swimming away from the crowds. It is the northernmost beach of the island, facing the mountains of the Peloponnese.

On the horizon, you can see huge ships sailing to and from the Aegean. It takes its name from the church of St. Nicholas, which is located a few meters from the shore. It is a medium-sized beach, with small pebbles, offering umbrellas and sun beds.

Agios Nikolaos beach has relatively difficult access by dirt road which explains why it is so quiet and secluded. A water canyon ends up to the beach with water almost until March. An ideal choice for those who seek tranquility with a riot of colors.
